Our Origin
Predicta was founded in 2023 by Dr. Irene Ghobrial, Dr. Kenneth Anderson, Dr. Gad Getz, Dr. Romanos Sklavenitis-Pistofidis, and Dr. Keith Flaherty – clinician-scientists from Dana-Farber and the Broad Institute who had already developed the science. Whole genome sequencing of intact circulating tumor cells from a routine blood draw delivers a less invasive and more complete picture of disease progression than a bone marrow biopsy. Predicta exists to fulfill the founders’ vision of bringing that technology into mainstream patient care.
Today, CEO Brian McKernan leads a team of specialists in genomics, single-cell biology, oncology, and clinical operations – dedicated to making that possible for every patient who needs it.

Integrating genomic, immune, and longitudinal insights from a single blood sample to support better clinical decisions across the patient journey.
Predicta is building a platform that generates multiple layers of molecular insights from a single blood sample. By combining genomic characterization of circulating tumor cells with immune profiling and longitudinal monitoring, the platform provides a more complete view of disease biology than conventional testing alone.
As the platform expands, additional molecular modalities and longitudinal datasets will further strengthen the molecular intelligence available to clinicians, researchers, and pharmaceutical partners.

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT
The Science
Behind Predicta
Most molecular diagnostics sequence cell fragments – remnants of cells that have already died – or scan only a predetermined set of genetic targets through targeted gene panels. Predicta sequences whole, intact circulating tumor cells, thereby capturing the complete genomic profile of the disease: structural variants, copy number changes, clonal evolution, and extramedullary disease that biopsy cannot reach. Because those same intact cells carry the immune repertoire, T-cell receptor (TCR) profiling is possible from the same sample – allowing Predicta to deliver a tumor and immune picture together that fragment-based approaches cannot replicate.
